We died with Christ through baptism and therefore we are no longer held by the accountability of what we deserve.
V4: "As a result, we can produce a harvest of good deeds for God."
However, as Paul points out, just as he is human as I am human, there is a war going on inside of us, but thanks be to God, we, disciples of Christ, have the power to overcome the desires of this world.
For "the law itself is holy, and its commands are holy and right and good."
