Romans 6
V2-4, "...all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."
As much as we, disciples of Christ, were baptized into his death, we are still susceptible to the wicked desires of this world. It is still possible for us to be slave to sin, therefore, continue to live righteously and resist the evil one by counting yourself dead to sin.
The Roman disciples, Jews and Gentiles were sinning up a storm, and Paul is calling to them to a Godly repentance. Grace be to God that he allows us to repent.
